With the associate in Dental Assistant Specialist degree program, students learn the fundamentals of dental x-ray, assisting the dentist chair side, instruments and tray set-ups, and sterilization techniques. As a dental assistant you will develop skills in teaching clients preventive dentistry, surgical procedures, and calming anxious patients. Graduates will also learn about the business aspects of office management techniques.

Earning an associate degree as a Medical Assistant with Limited Radiography emphasis prepares students with the basics of terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to become a medical assistant. After completing a 240-hour externship to practice hands-on clinical skills, students return to the classroom to explore the field of radiography in x-ray production, correct positioning, and procedures. Graduates will then complete a 180-hour radiography practicum to enhance their skills and put them in high demand for many medical career opportunities.

Earning a diploma as a Medical Assistant will prepare students to maintain the highest quality of patient care. Students will also learn how to perform routine administrative duties such as schedule appointments, arrange for hospital admissions, and handle medical prescriptions. Assistants interact with patients by performing clinical duties such as taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
