B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration/Institutional Healthcare
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration degree program focuses on equipping adult students with a fundamental understanding of the nature of delinquency and crime, criminal law and procedure, the goals and essential components of the American criminal justice system, and to teach basic management and administrative skills to run organizations in this area. The program also strives to familiarize students with current trends, research techniques and technological advances in the discipline.
The Institutional Healthcare concentration addresses the basic body of knowledge, understanding and skills identified as relevant to criminal justice based health care services. This includes such areas as management, policy, legal and ethical parameters, health and disease factors, and health care service delivery. The reshaping of contemporary criminal justice health care requires workers to have a broad range of knowledge associated with the functions of health care in detention and correctional institutions, as well as various other areas represented in the greater criminal justice system.
