B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration/Management
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration degree program focuses on equipping adult students with a fundamental understanding of the nature of delinquency and crime, criminal law and procedure, the goals and essential components of the American criminal justice system, and to teach basic management and administrative skills to run organizations in this area. The program also strives to familiarize students with current trends, research techniques and technological advances in the discipline.
The Management concentration is designed to give students a depth of understanding concerning the management and administrative skills necessary to effectively run organizations in the various domains of criminal justice system. The courses included in this degree concentration focus primarily on the management and administration skill sets associated with the police, the courts, and with corrections. The theories and principles behind criminal justice are also examined. Students learn about policies, procedures associated with management functions, as well as many administrative practices and factors impacting criminal justice agency operations. This will not only give you the insight into what these specific departments are and what they do, but how to maintain and evaluate organizational operations from an administrative viewpoint.
