After earning an Associate in Applied Science in Baking & Pastry degree in our program graduates are prepared to seek entry-level positions such as line cooks in restaurants and bakeries. Learners will practice hands-on preparation of fundamental pastry and bread-baking techniques as they prepare desserts, pastry arts, and decorate cakes and other culinary treats. Along with learning baking skills through hands-on participation graduates will also gain valuable business training essential for operating within a bakery.

Students will explore food cost control, safety and sanitation standards, and beverage and menu planning as they learn to produce quality food dishes in collaboration with others. The program provides the essentials for learners to join this fast-paced, delectable field.

Individuals who have a passion for food and an eye for business can earn a Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Management degree and seek positions that require the expertise of focused individuals. The program will cover aspects of the business that include catering, event planning, financial accounting, and cost planning effectively. Because this industry is so people-oriented, courses also cover interpersonal communication skills and handling employee relations legally and appropriately for a business environment.
