The objective of the Medical Assisting associate degree program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as Medical Assistants. Students will be prepared to maintain the highest quality of direct patient care as they take vital signs, run laboratory and diagnostic tests, and perform front office procedures all while utilizing organization, communication, and management skills. Earning an associate degree as a Medical Assistant with Limited X-Ray emphasis prepares students with the basics of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to prepare them for entry-level positions in medical facilities. Students will gain a solid foundation in both clinical and administrative medical office skills and practice limited radiography techniques typical in hospital and clinical settings. Learners will complete a 180-hour supervised externship to enhance their learning experience and put them in high demand for many medical career opportunities after graduation.
