A.A.S. in Accounting

A.A.S. in Applied Management
Earning an associate degree in Applied Management through our unique program allows individuals to use their previous occupational, educational, or industry-related experiences towards college credits to advance completion time towards their degree. Military training, technical and trade school education, and business or health care experience can be taken into consideration for granting credit towards this associate degree. Our career counselors can let prospective students know if their training qualifies for these credits.

A.A.S. in Business Administration
Earning an associate degree in Business Administration introduces learners to basic business disciplines as well as the use of computer applications and technology that are widely used by businesses today. The program also encourages students to develop critical thinking and leadership skills and prepare for entry into a rewarding career.

A.A.S. in Clinical Laboratory Technician
NAU's Associate of Applied Science degree program in Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) prepares students from diverse backgrounds for rewarding careers in medical and scientific laboratories. The program includes courses in various clinical laboratory disciplines, as well as a general education core curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, and the life sciences. Students acquire the knowledge and practical skills to perform a variety of laboratory tasks in a student-centered and supportive learning environment through courses such as:
- Introduction to the Medical Laboratory
- Basic Immunology and Serology
- Hematology I and II
- Clinical Microbiology I and II
- Clinical Chemistry I and II
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- General Chemistry and Microbiology
NAU is currently pursuing initial program accreditation status through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Program accreditation will allow CLT program graduates to be eligible to take the certification examination offered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) and achieve MLT (ASCP) certification. -
A.A.S. in Criminal Justice
Earning an associate degree in Criminal Justice can prepare learners for entry-level positions in private security, advancement within criminal justice agencies, or after completion of additional training in an officer's training academy, policing and institutional corrections employment. Our program helps students identify and develop appropriate solutions for criminal justice issues and understand the need to handle their position of authority ethically, logically, and wisely within the parameters of their organization. Graduates will gain an overall knowledge of the various agencies and their responsibilities within the American criminal justice system.
Students in the state of Minnesota are not eligible to sit for the Minnesota Police Officer licensing examination upon completion of this program. Other public and private career options may be available to graduates.
This program may also benefit current officers who are seeking to advance their careers through education.
This program is not offered through our Online campus format in Minnesota (MN), Missouri (MO), or Tennessee (TN).

A.A.S. in Health Information Technology
Individuals who are interested in a career in the health care field without providing direct patients' care can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology and become a vital member of a health care team. Students will learn how to assemble patients' charts and ensure complete and accurate information for current and future providers of care to provide the best treatment based on each individuals needs and conditions. Along with fundamental accounting principles and practices courses, our program also prepares students to sit for the Certified Managerial Accounting (CMA) exam as well as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in those states not requiring the fifth year of education. Learners will also enhance critical thinking skills, utilize current technology to analyze information, and understand the ethical and legal guidelines that govern the conduct of accountants in the workplace. Successful graduates can seek certifications as CMAs and/or CPAs to increase their marketability.
