WHAT'S THE JOB OUTLOOK?
Job opportunities abound in the electronics technology field, with positions available in everything from telephone systems operation to computer and office machine repair. There's a growing need for employees who specialize in home entertainment equipment and commercial and industrial electronic equipment as well. Individuals with advanced training can go on to become specialists who work with other technicians to diagnose especially difficult problems, or consult with engineering experts to design equipment and develop maintenance procedures.
WHAT WILL I DO WITH MY EDUCATION?
Graduates of Heald's electronics technology program can pursue rewarding careers, working with equipment including televisions, radars, industrial equipment controls, computers, telephone systems, and medical diagnostic equipment. You can perform job roles ranging from Electronics Technician and Field Service Technician to Manufacturing Technician.
In this line of work, you might work with engineering experts or other technicians to develop laboratory tests, calibrate and operate instruments, make calculations, or repair equipment. -

According to industry analysts, network security is one of the fastest growing fields in Information Technology, due to the increase in network vulnerability and security threats. Data theft and other unauthorized access to computer systems and Web sites can be enormously detrimental to a company's success. Executives from all types of companies are reporting that information technology specialists with security expertise are highly valued, because safeguarding systems is a mission critical role.

Graduates of Heald's Network Security program can pursue rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including Information Security Technician, LAN Administrator, Junior Network Administrator, Technician Support Specialist, and PC Technician. You can also be well-prepared to pursue the following technical certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, Security+, and Microsoft® Certified Professional.
As a Network Security Specialist, you can be well-versed in encryption, authentication, and client and server security. You may be responsible for configuring firewalls, recovering and backing up critical business data, and using intrusion detection techniques to detect hacking activities.
