Associate of Applied Science in Health Fitness Specialist
Earning an associate degree in our Health and Fitness Specialist program can prepare individuals to explore career options in this rapidly expanding field. Learners will combine hands-on training with courses that explore the science and physiology of joints and muscle motion in order to prescribe individualized plans for specific needs. Courses will also feature nutritional needs during a training program, sport and recreational training using fitness equipment, and business strategies to market and promote fitness programs. Before graduation learners will complete a 150-hour externship that will allow them the opportunity to increase their skill and confidence levels and begin their new profession.

Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy
Upon completion of the two-year Massage Therapy associate degree program, graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination. The program includes hands-on training in Swedish massage, hot stone/spa techniques, deep tissue/trigger points, and myofascial release routines. At the associate degree level learners will have more business and liberal arts courses to enhance their education and credentials. Graduates of the program can choose to work in chiropractic clinics, physical therapy facilities, luxury hotels or cruise ships, or independently as their own boss. The demand for licensed and certified massage therapists is expected to grow so the career opportunities will likely remain strong for individuals with the skills to help people relax in our fast-paced society.
