Diploma - Barbering
The objective of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment as Barbers. The program is designed to introduce students to both technical and theoretical concepts with the main focus on haircutting, shaving and design. Barbers use their skills for entry level work in various settings, such as barbershops or in a salon environment. Prior to graduation, students are required to complete the full 1200 hours of training and a State Board Preparation course to help prepare them for the Florida State Licensure examination. Successful completion of the examination is required in order to apply for a Restricted Barber License in Florida. As a restricted barber you are authorized to perform haircuts and styles, including the application of hair tonics and hair spray. A restricted barber is allowed to perform full facial shaves; mustache and beard trimming; shampooing, conditioning and blow drying hair; and scalp treatments and facials. A restricted barber is not allowed to apply any other chemical preparations or solutions to the hair. However, the College cannot guarantee a student's eligibility to take the exam, or that they will pass the exam, or become licensed. Eligibility may be affected by a variety of factors, including a criminal background. It is the student's responsibility to inquire into and understand all eligibility requirements.

Diploma - Cosmetology
The objective of the Cosmetology Program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and practical hands-on experience to pursue entry-level employment as professional Cosmetologists. Florida Career College's experienced faculty uses modern equipment and professional grade supplies to train students for a career in the cosmetology industry. The program is taught in curriculum specific classrooms and our practical training areas were designed to replicate a real-world cosmetology work environment. The curriculum is intended to develop students' technical skills, as well as offer personal professional development. Areas of instruction include a wide range of beauty services, such as: haircutting, hair coloring, hair extensions, cleaning and styling wigs, manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, facials and waxing.
Prior to graduation, students are required to complete the full 1200 hours of training and a State Board Review course to prepare them for the State of Florida Board of Cosmetology Exam. Successful completion of the program is required in order to apply for a cosmetology license in Florida. However, the College cannot guarantee a student's eligibility to take the exam, or that they will pass the exam or become licensed by the Florida Board of Cosmetology. Eligibility may be affected by a variety of factors, including a criminal background. It is the student's responsibility to inquire into and understand all eligibility requirements. -
Diploma - HVAC Technician
Residential HVAC -- 9 months
The objective of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field, which includes selling, installing and maintaining residential equipment. The program is designed to provide students with instructions and hands-on training in areas such as: installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and basic design of refrigeration heating and air conditioning systems along with a focus on service operations. The curriculum includes hands-on lab simulations to help prepare students for field service work typically performed by installation technicians, shop service technicians, repair technicians, and apprentice mechanics. The 9-month HVAC program includes preparation for two important certifications for HVAC professionals: (1) EPA Section 608 Certification for Stationary Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and (2) Universal R-410A Safety Training & Certification. Achieving EPA 608 Certification is a program completion requirement. The R-410A certification is not a program completion requirement, but is strongly encouraged.
Residential / Commercial HVAC -- 12 months
The objective of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field, which includes selling, installing and maintaining residential equipment. The program is designed to provide students with instructions and hands-on training in areas such as: installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and basic design of refrigeration heating and air conditioning systems along with a focus on service operations. The curriculum includes hands-on lab simulations to help prepare students for field service work typically performed by installation technicians, shop service technicians, repair technicians, and apprentice mechanics. The 12-month HVAC program provides, in addition to all the training covered in the 9 month program above, supplemental instruction specific to commercial applications in the HVAC industry. These commercial applications include, among other topics: low and high-pressure boilers, balancing and testing air systems, and commercial chillers and other equipment. The 12-month HVAC program includes working towards two important certifications for HVAC professionals: (1) EPA Section 608 Certification for Stationary Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and (2) Universal R-410A Safety Training & Certification. Achieving EPA 608 Certification is a program completion requirement. The R-410A certification is not a program completion requirement, but is strongly encouraged. -
Diploma - Nail Care Specialist
The objective of the Nail Care Specialist program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge in both technical and theoretical concepts. The program has been designed to prepare students to pursue entry level positions as a nail care specialists in various salon or spa environments, including hotels, resorts and cruise lines. The Nail Care Specialist program curriculum includes training to develop a range of skills including, manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails. The program also includes introductory business marketing and retail sales training applicable to Nail Care Specialist. The nail care curriculum was designed to meet the requirements of the State of Florida and help prepare the student for licensure as a Nail Technician.

Diploma - Skin & Nail Care Specialist (Full Specialist)
The objective of the Skin and Nail Care Specialist program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge in both technical and theoretical concepts. The program has been designed to prepare the students to pursue entry-level positions as a skin and nail care specialists, in a salon or spa environment, in venues such as hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and the theater or film industry. The Skin and Nail Care Specialist program curriculum includes training to develop a range of skills, including facials, facial massage, makeup, hair removal techniques, manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails. The program includes introductory business marketing and retail sales training applicable to Skin and Nail Care Specialists. The skin and nail care program curriculum was designed to meet the requirements of the State of Florida to prepare the student for licensure as a Full Specialist.

Diploma - Skin Care Specialist
The objective of the Skin Care Specialist program is to provide foundational knowledge of technical and theoretical concepts in areas of skin care. The program is designed to prepare students to pursue entry-level employment as Skin Care Specialists in different settings including salons or spas in hotels, resorts, cruise lines, theater and film. The Skin Care Specialist program curriculum includes training to develop a wide range of skills including facials, facial massage, airbrush makeup, body wrapping, hair removal techniques, chemical peels, and micro-dermabrasion. The program will also include elements of business marketing and retail sales training. Students will write their own business plan and design their own product line while completing this program.
