Dental Hygiene
The enthusiastic and driven student of the Carrington College Dental Hygienist degree program will prepare themselves with knowledge to meet the professional standards of a qualified dental hygienist. Such students will also avail themselves of the chance to learn what we teach about being legally compliant in this branch of the medical field. Opportunities are offered to become skilled in not only educational services, but therapeutic resources and preventative methods will be taught as well. By the time the hard-working learner has successfully passed the program courses, he or she will be able to demonstrate the following skills: point out and graph regularities and abnormalities in a patient's mouth, take oral x-rays, give appropriate fluoride and fissure treatments, be able to administer periodontal therapies such as plaque and stain removal. The dedicated student will be fluent in communicating professionally with patients and co-workers, analyzing and applying medical breakthroughs to the treatment of patients and able to demonstrate expertise as a critical thinker and an information manager. The prepared graduate, upon the completion of the program, will be ready to take the state licensing exam and sit for the Dental Hygiene National Board.
