The dedicated student of the Carrington College California Medical Assisting program can learn the following skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency in each: clinical and administrative medical assisting. The successful graduate of these programs will have learned the abilities necessary for entry-level medical assisting. Skills such as prepping patients for their examinations, recording vital signs and properly caring for those supplies and tools found in a medical office will be learned by the careful and diligent student. Abilities the prepared graduate will be able to show are the skills necessary to perform many bookkeeping and clerical tasks, including the processing of insurance claims, performing diagnostic tests properly, assisting in routine patient procedures, the ability to apply critical thinking skills to various situations and be able to communicate effectively to patients and workers in the health care industry.
