Students can earn a diploma to become a Certified Personal Trainer in as little as 9 months. The program provides training in biomechanical and exercise physiology, athletic training, sports medicine, and nutrition for lifestyle and health. The program also provides practical training in the business techniques of office and records management as well as the National Council on Strength and Fitness Test Preparation Course and an exam voucher for the NCSF Certification Exam.

Earning a diploma in our Medical Transcriptionist program prepares students to work in a variety of settings as they transcribe doctor's notes to update patient's records. Courses will focus on medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology as well as the laws and ethics in medicine. Computer skills and applications will also be covered to enhance job potentials for graduates. Completion can be done in as little as 1 year.

A diploma as an Occupational Therapy Aide prepares students to work with clients of all ages as they assist them in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) therapy. Courses include medical terminology, anatomical positioning, and therapeutic terms along with workplace health and safety. In as little as 4 months graduates can start a satisfying career helping people enjoy a better quality of living.

Individuals can learn from home the skills and knowledge to become an Optician and fit and fill eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions for people with eye problems. Our program features training in optical principles, terminology, and anatomy as well as math for opticians and professional business practices to work in an optometrist's or ophthalmologist's office, a hospital or clinical setting, or a retail optical store. Students will complete a clinical practicum experience that will help them put into practice the the knowledge they will gain and prepare them for a new career.

Graduates of the Penn Foster Optician Program are prepared to sit for the National Opticianry Competency Examination (NOCE), which is administered by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO). Those who pass the NOCE are awarded the ABOC credential (ABO certified). Graduates are also prepared to sit for the Contact Lens Registry Examination (CLRE), which is administered by the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE). Those who pass the CLRE are awarded the NCLEC credential (NCLE certified). Licensing requirements for opticians vary and students should contact their state's appropriate licensing bureau for current requirements.
