Earning an associate degree in our Health and Fitness Specialist program can prepare individuals to explore career options in this rapidly expanding field. Learners will combine hands-on training with courses that explore the science and physiology of joints and muscle motion in order to prescribe individualized plans for specific needs. Courses will also feature nutritional needs during a training program, sport and recreational training using fitness equipment, and business strategies to market and promote fitness programs. Before graduation learners will complete a 150-hour externship that will allow them the opportunity to increase their skill and confidence levels and begin their new profession.
