Doctoral Degree Programs in Pastoral are designed to boost students' skills in the field and move them ahead in their careers. Starting with foundational courses in Humanities, most programs then move into a specialization in Pastoral.
Pastors spend time not only studying their bibles but also counseling and working with their flock. Everyone struggles at one point in their life and sometimes they need help combatting emotional, physical, and mental problems, and a pastor can counsel and encourage them. And sometimes pastors are called to counsel couples that are struggling in their relationships or called upon to officiate at marriages. Because of the requirements that come with this job, pastors need to be great listeners and give useful advice.
