Undergraduate Program Programs in Public Health are designed to boost students' skills in the field and move them ahead in their careers. Starting with foundational courses in Health, most programs then move into a specialization in Public Health.
Public health is based on helping the population as a whole rather than individuals of a certain group. They want to prevent diseases from developing and spreading rather than just treating them. So they promote behaviors like hand washing and vaccines. They decide how to treat and prevent things like Swine Flu from spreading. They have the best interests of the population at heart and have the ability to determine the outbreak of an infectious disease or contamination of food or water.
