Many people that want to go to law school will pursue their undergraduate degree in the criminal justice and legal field so they are better prepared for their classes and their future. However, there are many individuals that opt to skip law school and instead graduate and become certified so that they can focus on their careers in the legal field.

Those in the police and detective field can expect to see job growth of about ten percent between now and 2018, and even lawyers are expected to have 13 percent job growth between now and 2018 according to the United States Department of Labor Statistics.

The law field offers its workers great earning possibilities. For example, those in the legal assistant and paralegal field had average salaries between $36,000 and $59,000 annually in 2008.
