Diploma Programs in Fashion Merchandising are designed to boost students' skills in the field and move them ahead in their careers. Starting with foundational courses in Business, most programs then move into a specialization in Fashion Merchandising.
Students in the fashion merchandising program spend time learning about the history of fashion, fabrics and textiles, as well as cultures and how that influences clothing. Graduates may work in stores, boutiques, or as an expert and they will most likely be in charge of the displays. They will need to know which colors and patterns go together in order to show what the store has to offer. Fashion merchandising is a great career for individuals that love fashion but don't want to design clothing.
