Online Degrees in Finance
Listed below are colleges and universities that offer online degrees or certificates in Business with an emphasis in Finance and a detailed list of the programs that are offered.

Needs in Finance
As growth in business and commerce has grown, so has white collar crime and the abuse of money. Mahatma Gandhi once said 'Capital as such is not evil; it is its wrong use that is evil. Capital in some form or other will always be needed.' So is money evil? No, but it could be if it is handled incorrectly.
Our world needs money as a means to get the resources and services that keep businesses running, and because of that there is a great need for people trained in the financial industry who know how to make money work the right way.
State of the Financial Industry During and After the Great Recession
The financial industry in the United States has had some bleak times recently due to the on-going Great Recession. A lot of these hard times were caused by dishonest and unethical financial management of huge companies in the U.S. Many Americans lost their life savings or watched friends and families lose money when the financial industry nearly collapsed just a few years ago, and many people have lost their jobs. Americans don't trust financial companies and the financial industry anymore. A recent survey by Edelman Trust in US Financial Services found that over 46 percent of respondents to the survey said that their trust in financial companies had fallen even in 2010. Only 15% of respondents said that they trusted financial advice given by a portfolio manager. Our nation and the financial industry need skilled and honest financial managers to help turn this negative industry image around.
Financial Degrees Still Hiring and in Demand
The good news is that companies are still hiring graduates with finance degrees. According to a recent report by CNBS on the finance and economics were the sixth best college degrees to obtain in 2011. Economics majors had average starting salaries around $47,782, and finance majors had average starting salaries of around $46,442 according to this report.
What's It Like to Work in the Financial Industry
If you're going to be involved in finance, you'd better like offices, cubicles, meetings, and long hours. Most financial managers work on average 50 to 60 hours per week in offices. The federal government estimates that 3 out of 10 financial managers work in the finance industry or the insurance industry. Most companies require financial managers to have at least a bachelor's degree and competition is very fierce for top paying jobs, so having an internship can help when trying to get hired.
Finance Career Outlook
It's true that the financial industry has taken a beating over the past few years, but companies still need financial managers and employees with the right skills to keep things running. There are still a lot of jobs in the financial industry that have a great career outlook over the next few years. Much of the growth in the financial industry will come due to new government regulations and business financial reporting practices that businesses must adhere to.

Finance Salary Information
It's a well known fact that many jobs in the financial industry offer great paying salaries. However, these jobs have risks and benefits. In a recent article on the Best Paying Finance Jobs in the US by Dona DeZube, Finance Career Expert, talks about some of the pros and cons to financial and insurance industry jobs, 'High-paying jobs often share two challenging characteristics: responsibility and consequences for mistakes. Take the two best-paying jobs within finance and insurance, for example: financial managers and chief financial officers, both with average earnings of $86,280. Both positions call for managing workers, making decisions and project management. Fail at any of those tasks, and you could be out the door.'
Another important thing to remember when it comes to the top paying jobs in the financial industry, there are a lot of people who want those high paying salaries. Competition is fierce, so you need to do all you can to make yourself competitive with the right education, training, and even internships before applying for jobs.
In this article, DeZube also lists some of the top financial industry jobs along with current average salaries for them.
