Employment Outlook in the Leadership and Management Accounting Field

The field of accounting is expected to experience significant growth over the next decade. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the accounting field will experience up to a 22 percent increase in growth between now and 2018. This growth will partly be fueled by a growing need in the international market place for employees with expertise in accounting practices that are ethnical and transparent.  Accountants with leadership and management skills will also be needed as businesses try to streamline financing processes and become more productive.

Salary Potential in Leadership and Management Accounting

The field of leadership and management accounting has great salary potential. In 2008, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, auditors and accountants had average salaries between $45,000 and $78,000 annually. Those in the management side had average salaries of around $59,000 annually, and those employed in the accounting and tax preparation side by salaries around $61,000 annually. Salaried accountants often also received solid benefits packages including paid time off, health and medical insurance, retirement plans, and sometimes even bonuses.
