Demand for business professionals is expected to continuing growing. In the Business sector, employment is projected to grow by 2.1 million, or 14 percent, by 2010. Sales and related occupations are expected to grow by 11.9 percent. Secretarial and administrative assistant occupations are expected to increase by 9.1 percent.

Salaries for Business Professionals

Business degrees equal strong salaries. Accountants, for instance, start off making $41,000 per year on average. HR assistants start at $33,000 per year. Project managers start at $63,000 per year. And it only goes up from there. Generally, higher degrees will equal higher paychecks, with MBA degree-holders making upwards of $100,000 per year.

A Day in the Life of a Business Professional

Meetings and deadlines are mainstays in a businessperson's daily routine. Depending on your specialty and industry, your work environment may be frantic (Wall Street, for example) or laid back. In start-up companies, you may wear a number of hats and work ten-hour days. In large companies, you can expect the normal eight-to-five schedule and very narrowly defined responsibilities.
