Classes tend to be much more fun for students when they are sitting by a classmate with a yellow personality. Yellows are constantly searching for a way to make ordinary things fun. These are the type of students that will place bets on what sweater the professor is wearing, and if their guess is incorrect then they will take their friends out for a Slurpee during the next class.

They believe that life is a party and they are hosting it. Yellows won't participate in class or other activities unless they believe that they are going to have fun. They become the class clowns. They like being the center of attention and need to be noticed and praised. They appear to be nonchalant about things, but nothing is further from the truth. They need attention.

Besides being fun-loving, these students are also very outgoing and have lot of friends. They are typically enthusiastic and optimistic, but they live in the moment. They are emotional and passionate. They look for adventures and they have short attention spans. They like to do things outside of the ordinary; this may include running through the halls, wearing outlandish clothes, drawing funny pictures. They can't sit still for long and they will choose friends who refuse to allow details from getting in the way of play.

They are unrealistic and disorganized. They are impulsive and can be too talkative, but have the ability to make stressful situations fun. For students waiting to receive their test, yellows might sing you the song that they memorized their information for the test with. Or they might go so far as to dress up in order to make the mood lighter. Professors may act like they disapprove of these actions; but deep down they are thankful for these fun-loving students because they make their class much more entertaining not just for the students, but themselves.

Yellows are completely unpredicatable, but they are exceptional at communicating. They can chit-chat with anyone. Friends come highest on the priority list, besides having fun. The reason behind this is the validation and approval they receive from friends which feeds their need to be popular.

Life in the classroom can be dreadful without one of these sunny personalities. They add the chocolate chips to the cookie batter. Although they are not commonly known as being the best students, they make the classroom experience much more interesting and well rounded because yellows play an important role in the workforce and our lives as a whole.

Those personalities that seem to get along with everyone are blues. They create the bridge between the other personalities. This group is very enthusiastic and optimistic about how their term projects will turn out, and how the information they learn will improve their life. They are extremely good at communicating and can present information in a descriptive but blunt manner. They can be a good interpreter when the professor has gone off on a random tangent; that is, if they understood the connection.

They are patient and easygoing. They are motivated by altruism. They find joy and satisfaction in doing nice things for others. They pride themselves on being selfless rather than selfish. In class they are the students that will offer to give notes to their friends if they missed class and offer a classmate a ride if they need it.

Blues lead their lives with a strong moral conscience. They try to behave in a proper manner, so don't expect to hear these students burp in class or have an outrageous comment that will challenge the professor's previous statement. They enjoy being good and will make decisions on the basis of their morals. They have a strong sense of integrity, and because of this they are very loyal and trustworthy. They make good friends because they are selfless and always willing to help out. They are very trustworthy and dependable. If they are given a task; they will turn it out. They will attend class everyday and will do what is asked of them. I would place a bet that the reds and blues are the ones that turn in their projects at the end of the semester.

Personalities in this category can be trusted with valuable information and would make great bosses, but seldom are. These individuals have many good traits but they can be kind of clingy. They crave intimacy and want to be loved and understood. They need to be praised for their efforts and remembered. Classmates must remember that these students are the ones that want to become really good friends. They will generally sit in the same seat because they crave that intimacy. If you sit by these people a few times, the pattern has been established, and you can plan on having a friend, whether you want one or not, for the rest of the semester.

Some of the negative aspects of the personality may include the fact that they are over-accommodating. Sometimes people don't want help and don't need it, but unless they give into the blues, then the blues will not feel validated. They will feel guilty and selfish if they are not helping someone 24/7.

Another negative includes the fact that they hate change. They will cling to the way that things have been. If you walk into class early, these are the students that not only need their same spot but will make sure the desk is the same one they have had the entire semester. Otherwise, they will look for that desk and rearrange them in that fashion. They can be a little OCD.

They also tend to hold grudges for life. In the classroom if you borrowed their pencil one time without returning it; they will remember. Or if you fall through on a project, or forget to show up at a study session, prepare yourself because that is ingrained in their mind and they will not forget it. They will probably bring it up later on when it serves their best interests.

Classrooms are such an interesting place to be. It is fun to watch how the different personality colors show up and react to each other. Blues and reds tend to butt heads together, so many times these individuals will make friends with yellows and whites instead of with each other.

White personalities are typically classified as accepting, calm, and balanced. They are independent and require kindness. They like to keep things balanced in their life and they try to maintain internal feelings of tranquility and comfort. This kind of personality is essential in the classroom. They are very tolerant and accepting of different people and their ideas. They are quiet by nature and will most likely be sitting in the back or on the sides of the classroom.

They are supposedly the best listeners, although I haven't been able to verify this fact. In class these students are typically quiet and shy so it is difficult to determine if they are good listeners, because the teacher never calls on them. However, it is most likely true, because the yellow personalities are busy telling jokes to other students, reds are trying to come up with a question or comment that will make them look smart, and the blues are trying to find where they put their homework, becasue after all it was due 10 minutes ago.

Students should thank the whites in their class because they actually stay awake and process whatever the professor is teaching deeply and objectively. Meanwhile, the other students are dozing off or fooling around during the boring lecture about igneous rocks, imaginative numbers, the Spanish Inquisitions, laws of motion, or whatever the topic might be that day.

Despite their concentration in class, they don't typically get labeled as being smart; because they tend to be quiet and avoid verbal battles. When arguments or debates erupt in class over different ideologies, or cultures, these students become uncomfortable and want the confrontation to end at all costs. They might even exit the classroom to get a drink, in order to avoid the situation until it cools down.

This little break is right in line with their personality, because Whites require "alone time." They need time to be by themselves and they absolutely resent and refuse to be controlled by others. They want to do things in their own time and their own way. They are the people that would rather spend hours trying to figure a problem out rather than asking someone to help them for a few minutes.

Whites also tend to be passive aggressive. The best way I have found to explain this is with a dog. Picture a big dog loving you with its paws on your shoulders, licking your face, while at the same time peeing on your shoe. White personalities won't become involved in a confrontation, but will get back at the person in other ways.

Personality types have been studied for decades. Over the next week, the other personality types in the classroom will be examined; but in the meantime analyze the personalities in your classroom and watch over the next semester to see if your predictions were correct.
