Football season is finally back in full swing. Whether you’re cheering for a team you’ve followed your entire life, rooting for your alma mater, or just enjoying time with friends, it’s never a true tailgating party without great food. Here are couple of ideas for delicious, super simple snacks to help you enjoy game day!
Chicken Wing Dip
Ingredients:
- 2 (10 ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup ranch or bleu cheese dressing (I like bleu cheese)
- 3/4 cup buffalo sauce (my favorite is Franks Red Hot)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Tortilla chips, vegetables, etc
Directions:
Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and cook on Low setting until hot and bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips, vegetables or anything else you can think of.

Hot & Sweet Mini Franks
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 pound cocktail franks
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped jalapeño peppers
- ½ cup grape jelly
- 1 can (8 ounces) un-drained crushed pineapple in juice
Directions:
Combine ketchup, pineapple, jelly, and peppers. Cook over medium heat, stirring until jelly is melted. Stir in franks until warm. Serve immediately with toothpicks.
Whatever you decide to make… don’t forget the tasty beverages! And GO TEAM (whichever one you’re rooting for!)

Tailgating has always been a great time at a college or university! Supporting your favorite football team by socializing and ingesting refreshments (BEER) and food (HOT DOGS) before a game is an important part of college. At least I always thought so at the University of Missouri and University of Colorado. Another great part of tailgating is being a part of your college social life. Some students choose to become a part of the Greek social life and other don’t.
