The master's in Elementary Teacher Education is a graduate degree program preparing candidates for teacher licensure. The guiding philosophy of the program is to provide the adult student, who already has a degree in a discipline other than education, with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to become a competent and effective educator. This program takes 1 to 2 years to complete.
It is much easier to raise a healthy child than it is to "fix" an adult.
Children are our future and understanding their growth and development requires knowledge specific to the different ways children learn and grow emotionally, mentally, and physically. Child care providers and people who choose to work with children must first learn some basic similarities and differences in the various stages of children's growth and development.
