Counselors work in a variety of settings including private practices, hospitals, schools, community health organizations, rehabilitation centers and day treatment centers. They work with children, teenagers, adults, and families with issues relating to health disorders, addiction, employment needs, disability, school problems, and even trauma. So there are many different kinds of counselors so it's important for individuals to choose which type of counselor they want to become and then pursue the necessary education.
