Solid Employment Outlook for Finance Leadership and Management

Financial managers have a solid employment outlook. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that this field will experience an eight percent increase in job growth between now and 2018. This growth will be created by increased regulation and regulation changes. Companies will find it necessary to hire more financial managers to help put these increased reporting and regulatory requirements in place. Also, more financial managers will be needed as the economy continues to become more global and companies must deal with global financial situations.

Salary Potential for Finance Leadership and Management

The financial management field offers some strong salaries. Most employers require financial managers to have at least a bachelor's degree to get into entry level position. Many larger employers requite a master's degree for any type of management job. The Occupational Outlook Handbook found that in 2008, financial managers had median salaries from $72,000 to $135,000 annually. These salaries did not include annual bonuses and stock options often offered to salaried financial officers. It's also important to note that financial officers with more experience generally had higher salaries.

Colleges Degrees Available in Finance Leadership and Management

Colleges have some very strong degree programs in finance leadership and management. These degrees include a bachelor's degree (4 years of study) and a master's degree (2 years of study beyond a bachelor's degree).
