Great Salaries Available in Business Accounting

Those with degrees in accounting can make excellent salaries. Those with master's degrees and their CPA, Certified Public Accounting License, make the highest salaries. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, accountants make on average salaries between $72,000 and $135,000 annually. Those employed in the securities and commodity contracts field made the highest average salaries. Those employed in the depository and credit industries made the lowest. Insurance carriers paid their financial managers on average about $110,000 annually. Local governments paid around $78,000 annually.

Great Degree Programs Available in Business Accounting

Colleges have several different degree programs available in the field of business accounting. These degrees include associate's degree (2 years of study), bachelor's degree (4 years of study) and master's degree (2 years beyond bachelor's degree). Some schools also offer programs that assist students in preparing to take the exam to obtain their CPA license. Many of these degree programs are available at campuses across the country.
