We proudly present the next chapter in our Marvel vs. DC series, only this time we’ve decided to turn to the dark side. After all, when you’re dealing with superheroes, their pesky consciences will always prevent on all-out, to-the-death battle. Villains, on the other hand, have no qualms about slaughtering one another. They’re bad guys, after all.
And what badder villains are there in the two universes than these: Darkseid, supreme monarch of the hell-planet Apokolips, and Apocalypse, the Forever Walker. These two gray-skinned baddies are bad news for whatever planet they land on, much less in unbridled combat with one another.
Here’s the breakdown for the noobs. Let’s just say, it’s not looking pretty…
DARKSEID
Alter ego: Uxas
Strengths: Darkseid possesses the Omega Effect which allows him to put an end to anything he sees. This takes the form of vicious eye blasts, teleporting his prey wherever he desires, transforming his prey into creatures, setting off every pain receptor in his targets, or just plain erasing an enemy from existence. Okay then. For anyone who hasn’t already soiled themselves, the “God of Evil,” as he is often called, can also trap people in alternate realities where they are forced to live through progressively worse lives. He has defeated Superman on strength alone and he has the stamina and durability to match his god status. He can raise the dead, create life, de-evolve life, time-travel, and wield telekinesis, telepathy, and mind control. To top it all off, Darkseid is a master tactician who relishes manipulating people and events.
Weaknesses: Darkseid’s only Achilles heel may be his hubris and his obsessions for those who have bested him.
APOCALYPSE
Alter ego: En Sabah Nur
Strengths: The full extent of Apocalypse’s powers is unknown, but what is know is fearsome. Augmented by alien technology, he can manipulate his body at the molecular level, change his shape, density, size, and armor. He has been known to increase his strength levels beyond those of the Hulk. He can teleport, fly, take human forms, absorb energy, project energy, and live forever. He also possesses strong psionic abilities when he wants to. Perhaps his greatest weapon would be his ability to switch into other host bodies to revive his body.
Weaknesses: Apocalypse’s body is ravaged by a techno-organic disease.

lilrico305, I did realize halfway through the post that Darkseid is one bad mutha and that Apocalypse, even with the true extent of his powers shrouded in mystery, would probably get his techno-organic keister handed to him ten times over. Maybe a better way to frame this one would be to ask: “How could Apocalypse possibly take down the God of Evil?”

I suppose it is possible for Apocalypse to beat the D-man. He would have to do a lot of cloak and dagger stuff, not moving on to an all out brawl until Darkseid has been weakened considerably. Well, first off, Apocalypse would want to get rid of Darkseids assets (his son, his army of people and parademons, etc. This might be hard to do, but it could be done. Next, using his psionic abilities, he could take control of some heroes villains to help him weaken Darksied. He wouldn’t want anyone too well known, since that might draw out more heroes than he could handle, and would probably want to stick with villains for the most part, for instance (if we are allowing people from marvel and DC) Black Adam, the mentally unstable Sentry, maybe some lanterns thrown into the mix (mostly not green) and a whole lot of lower level heroes and villains (Goblin) to help distract Darkseid when he’s fighting him. Or, if he wanted to be really sneaky, he could go to Apacolypse and send some missiles to earth, new genesis, and Oa to frame darksied, maybe trick a few of Darksieds generals into attaking the aforementioned planets as well to help keep up the facade. this would cause many of earths mightiest heroes, New Genesis’s most powerful entities, and The Green Lantern Core’s most powerful Lantern’s. Depending on how the battle goes, he could attack and finish off the weakened Darsied if Darkseid prevails over the heroes or, strike the killing blow when the heroes defeat Darkie, since they probably won’t kill him. I’m planning on becoming a supervillain when I grow up.
Anyway, my vote is still for Darkseid.
It seems to me that the DC homers think DC’s heroes and villains are so strong that Marvel has no one to compete with them. All the posts say the same thing DC would win by a longshot, I say thee nay! APOCALYPSE, is not going to be bested by some clown with Omega beams as his main weapon or defense. Darkseid is not a brawler, we’ve seen that when he battles Superman, He may be powerful but what do you think will happen to Darkseid when APOCALYPSE increases his density and lets not forget that APOCALYPSE can increase his strength to Hulk level also, so why will he fall to Darkseid? It would be a solid battle and I think it would end in neither one of them getting the upper hand. Look at these battles with an open mind and take personal feelings out of the equation, okay people!
let’s see, maybe because doomsday could easily crush the hulks head like a watermelon. Do you even know what omega beams can do?!?! If they touch you, you’re dead. That or transported over huge distances. Whichever he prefers. Superman can withstand the beams, but hulk wouldn’t be able too, not immidiately. It would take him a while to get to the proper strength level, and by that point, hulk would already be ash floating in the breeze. I’m not trying to diss Apocalypse, but while he is good, Doomsday is better. I mean, come on! He is freaking evil incarnate!
Just read the abilities for each. Time travel says it all. Dommsy could just go back in time and erase Nur before he learns about his power.
Here we go again, if Doomsday struggled with Superman why would he crush the Hulk, when The Hulk and Superman are both damn near invincible to the highest power? I would love to see a crossover mag pitting the Hulk against Doomsday. I would say that the planet would get destoyed before either of them gets tired. Doomsday is strong but I do not see him doing what you said he could to the Hulk. The Hulk has a power level that cannot even be calculated because we’ve never seen him at his upper-upper limit, but I would guess that someone who held up half the earth with ease would make Doomsday ask himself why did I pick a fight with this beast.
Doomsday kills The hulk, no question about it. I mean, Doomsday has destroyed an entire planet on his own, He is not going to mess around. No slowly shouting: “Doomsday smash green man!”, just death and destruction with extreme prejudice. Doomsday doesn’t waste any time with banter, doesn’t hold back, has no limits he resticts himself to. Hulk generally tries not to kill random people, will waste time shouting for no apparent reason, and will take a while to reach Doomsdays level. That is how it would end. You can’t beat logic.
Darkseid may lose because Apocolypse can absorb his energy, which to me seems like he will gain Darkseids powers. And if Darkseid uses his omega beam then Apocolypse can absorb his beam. I think professor X can beat Darkseid as well. May hulk, and She-Hulk. Dr. Doom, Omega Red. SuperMan has beat him too. Oh, going off the subject, I will say Darth Vador, oh, yoda. Oh, even better Mike Tyson. All he needs to do is bite his ear off. This is fun.
I think it would be a very close battle, especailly with Big A being able to absorb energy and teleport and shape shift and change his density, avoiding the omega beams or even getting them to hit Darkseid would be simple. Also since when is Darkseid an actual god, is a new-god which is a character type, he has been described as nearly immortal, where as Apocalypse is immortal?
One more thing DC fanboyos, please check your posts, we are talking about DARKSEID not DOOMSDAY as some of you are calling him.

Apocalypse=beaten by the x-men
Darksied can take on the justice leaugue, who would pwn the x-men(“cough”trying to open up another fight blog in a subtle manner”cough”), I’m pretty sure he could beat Nur.
All of DC’s heroes and villains are “all powerful” which is a complete crock and why DC is dog doo. Marvel has a few all-powerful characters like the gods (Galactus), Silver Surfer, Thor, and a few others, but they all have flaws and real weaknesses (not so bull ish like a green rock).
Apocalypse is also a god, for all intents and purpose. And he’s a much better villain than Darkseid.

well to be fair darkseid has 100% control over his omega beams he can control where they go. for all intents and purposes darkseid is a god he can summon powerful entities with his omega beams. in the marvel vs dc crossover galactus attempted to devour apokolips and found tht the planet had no hope or life to devour. he is a master tactician that has conquered countless worlds and planets thanos is his marvel equivalent. as for big a energy absorbtion darkseid would know and he would use his brute strength to overpower him. while the big a has control over his molecules darkseid can attack at the atomic level with said omega beams.it would be a fair fight but i do beleive darkseid would prevale. but the big a is powerful in the xmen universe but would be destroyed by the phoneix the sentry graviton molecule man purple man the hulk thor all would beat apokolips ass. the hulk can get so angry he can actualy life up thors hammer and throw it but to get there he needs time.
It would be pretty even, but Darkseid’s omega effect gives him a slight advantage. That is until Darkseid finds the Anti-life equation then it’s no contest.
as soon as a i saw darkseids name i said “opponent=screwed” even though apocalypse looks like a guy who could own you 1000 times in 5 seconds darkseid would blast him into hell with a click of his fingers
now imagine this,shao kahn appears out of nowhere,combines with darkseid and becomes dark kahn he uses his omega hammer attack to hit off apocalypse’s head.and that pretty much sums up that both shao kahn and darkseid could own apocalypse in 2 seconds
I’d say the true match would be between Darkseid (DC) and The Beyonder (Marvel). I think people are too hung up on the likeness of Apocolyps/Darkseid being similar.
I didn’t read the comics but in X-MEN Animated Series Apocalypse is immortal and dozens of psychics,including Xavier kill Apocalypse by removing him from the axis of time and out of existence.
So i think that “IMMORTAL” says it all,the guy can’t die and the fact that he can shapeshift and expend his size it means that can probably become as big as Galactus or any other huge individual.(in some cases size does matter)

well, even though everyone is right about Darkseid being
superior to Apocalypse in many ways.
Apocalypse is and will always be my favorite character
of all time. so I vote for Apocalypse every time and every event. A better matchup would have been Darkseid and
Thanos. those 2 are equal in every way.
If they did happen to come across each other, it would be an infinite killing cycle. Darkseid and Apocalypses’ powers are paradoxical. Realistically if this did happen Apocalypse would win because if Superman beat him (superman being pretty moronic clearly seen by how he assesses situations) then Apocalypse being an alien genius would have no issue out smarting Darkseid. Because intelligence would play a big factor in any battle.
