Individuals who are interested in a career in the health care field without providing direct patients' care can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology and become a vital member of a health care team. Students will learn how to assemble patients' charts and ensure complete and accurate information for current and future providers of care to provide the best treatment based on each individuals needs and conditions. The prospect for graduates of this program are expected to stay in high-demand according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition.
