Ashford University was founded in 1918 with the goal of providing high-quality, affordable learning opportunities and degree programs for individuals that are pursuing integrity in their lives, professions, and communities. Ashford combines a traditional liberal arts base with accelerated adult learning programs and relevant undergraduate and graduate programs that meet today's expanding fields in many diverse career areas. Students can balance their lives as they complete their online courses one at a time and can earn their degree in as little as 12-24 months.
Ashford University does not currently accept students in Arkansas, Kentucky, Minnesota or Mississippi.

AA/Early Childhood Education
Launch your education when you earn your Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University. Take the first steps toward qualifying for high-demand jobs in daycare, preschool, and elementary schools. You'll find your courses in this 67–credit online program, taken one at a time for five weeks each, focus on important topics in early childhood, such as: development, learning assessment, special learners, and instructional strategy. Upon completion of your Associate's degree at Ashford, you can transfer your credits toward any of Ashford's many Bachelor's degree programs.
Successful completion of the Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education program does not lead to certification or licensure. Completing the Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education by itself will not qualify a student for certification or licensure in any state. It is the student's responsibility to determine individual state licensure requirements for teacher certification or licensure. Please refer to the Education Resource Organizations Directory (EROD) for individual state requirements for teacher certification or licensure. Please be advised that states change their policies from time to time and students are advised to check with their state regulatory agencies' policies and procedures relating to licensure in that state on a regular basis. Further, a criminal record may prevent an applicant from obtaining licensure, certification or employment in this field of study.
